Instalimb Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Sumida City, Tokyo; CEO: Yasushi Tokushima; hereinafter "the Company"), a pioneer in the world's first (※1) AI-driven 3D-printed prosthetic limb manufacturing solution deployed in Japan, India, and the Philippines, announces its selection as one of the 17 participating companies in the fourth cohort of Tokyo Metropolitan Government's global startup support program, "SusHi Tech Global."
With the support from this program, the Company will advance its vision of "realizing a world where everyone in need can access high-quality prosthetics." This includes further strengthening its existing overseas operations, expanding into third countries via a franchise model, and developing a remote delivery system utilizing smartphone scanning technology. These initiatives aim to transcend the traditional limitations of prosthetic provision—which has historically required access to urban centers or specialized facilities—and establish a new global supply infrastructure to deliver high-quality prosthetics to underserved populations.
About "SusHi Tech Global"
In November 2025, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government launched the "Global Innovation Strategy 2.0 STARTUP & SCALEUP," positioning global scale-up support as a core pillar. Under this strategy, "SusHi Tech Global" was established as a public-private initiative to concentrate support on startups leveraging sustainable technologies to drive social transformation and global growth.
Since the first cohort in December 2025, 77 companies have participated. With the announcement of the fourth cohort on July 9, 2026, 17 new companies—including Instalimb—have been selected, bringing the total to 94.
### Support Programs
- Growth Acceleration Program: Up to 200 million JPY in funding support and hands-on assistance - Energy and Resilience Enhancement Program: Up to 200 million JPY in funding and operational support - Global × Scale-up Program: Selected graduates will receive up to 1 billion JPY in funding support
Future Outlook
To date, the Company has focused on addressing the social challenge of prosthetic shortages in the Global South, advancing direct-operated clinic operations in India and the Philippines, and providing 3D prosthetic manufacturing solutions to government agencies and large organizations.
Moving forward, the Company will leverage its expertise in D2C sales, digital manufacturing, and local operations gained in existing markets to expand its franchise model into countries and regions beyond India and the Philippines, thereby establishing systems to deliver high-quality prosthetics to populations previously underserved by traditional models. Additionally, the Company will implement a remote delivery model by advancing the development of smartphone scanning technology, enabling service delivery to remote patients who face difficulties accessing clinics or specialized equipment.
Through these initiatives, the Company aims to overcome the traditional limitations of prosthetic provision—long dependent on access to urban centers and specialized facilities—and realize a new, globally scalable supply infrastructure. The Company will continue its global mission to achieve its vision of "a world where everyone in need can access high-quality prosthetics."
