Infuse Life Science Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo; CEO: Daisuke Saito; hereinafter "the Company"), a life sciences startup committed to advancing women's health and the beginning of life through innovative solutions, announces its selection for the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) FY2026 'Medical-Engineering Global Expansion Program (Research and Development)' and the completion of a funding round with BD Fund Co., Ltd. and Incubate Fund Co., Ltd. as lead investors.
Social Challenges the Company Addresses
One of the primary causes of infertility is tubal factor, which presents diagnostic challenges. The standard diagnostic procedure, hysterosalpingography (HSG), is only available at limited medical facilities, forcing patients to navigate geographical and time-related constraints. Furthermore, HSG assesses only tubal patency and has limitations in evaluating the actual condition inside the fallopian tubes.
Research and Development Initiatives
The Company is developing an endoscopic system designed to directly visualize the inside of the fallopian tubes. Aiming to establish a method that enables direct observation and evaluation of structural abnormalities difficult to detect with HSG, the system adopts a single-use (disposable) design. This eliminates the need for complex high-level disinfection and sterilization processes, making the system easier to adopt even in outpatient clinics. The goal is to enable more precise evaluation of the fallopian tubes at accessible medical facilities, thereby supporting faster and more appropriate decision-making for pregnancy.

Selection for AMED's Medical-Engineering Global Expansion Program
Project Title: Research and Development of an Office-Based, Single-Use Fallopian Endoscope System as an Alternative to Hysterosalpingography
The Company's single-use fallopian endoscope system aims to serve as an alternative to hysterosalpingography (HSG), the standard method for infertility testing. Designed for use in outpatient settings, it aims to reduce patients' physical and psychological burden and improve access to care. Through this selection, the Company will actively advance non-clinical studies with a view toward the U.S. market, accelerating development toward early clinical implementation.
Funding Details
The Company has successfully raised funds with BD Fund Co., Ltd., which possesses deep expertise in supporting global healthcare startups, and Incubate Fund Co., Ltd., Japan's largest venture capital firm specializing in seed-stage investments, as lead investors. The funds will be allocated to accelerate the research and development of flagship products and prepare for business expansion in the United States.
Comment from CEO Daisuke Saito
"We are honored to simultaneously achieve two major milestones: strong support from BD Fund and Incubate Fund, and selection for AMED's Medical-Engineering Global Expansion Program. We deeply appreciate the support of all stakeholders.
The fallopian tube, a vital organ directly involved in the creation of life, has remained underexplored throughout the long history of medicine. Building on this selection, we will accelerate our R&D efforts—not only to innovate diagnostics through endoscopy but also to develop new therapies, tackle fertility prediction using AI, and expand into tumor-related research. As a selected recipient of the AMED program, we are committed to safeguarding the beginning of life and infusing new vitality through life sciences, advancing our mission with even greater determination."
Investor Comments
Comment from Yujiro Maeda, Representative Director, BD Fund Co., Ltd.
"Infuse Life Science is a startup boldly tackling uncharted medical territory related to the beginning of life. The fallopian tube is an essential organ for human birth, yet it has long lacked sufficient technological innovation. In response to this reality, CEO Saito's strong leadership is paving the way, while co-founder Dr. Suzuki brings deep clinical insights that give substantial weight to this endeavor. The team, centered on these two individuals, possesses a profound commitment—not merely to build medical devices, but to advance women's health, reproductive medicine, and the future of life itself. We were deeply moved by their passion and execution capability, which led us to make this investment decision."
Comment from Masaki Izumi, Business Development Analyst, Incubate Fund Co., Ltd.
"Having engaged in conversations with CEO Saito and CMO Dr. Suzuki for over a year, we have gained profound insights into healthcare and life sciences, culminating in this partnership. The selection for AMED's Medical-Engineering Global Expansion Program reaffirms the strength of Infuse Life Science's technological capabilities and vision. Although the fallopian tube is essential for human reproduction, much of it remains unexplained. We firmly believe that the Company's initiatives will unlock these mysteries, enabling many people to live freer lives. We will fully support the Company's growth every step of the way."
