A10 Lab Inc. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Tsuyoshi Nagasaka), the developer and operator of the habit-forming app 'Minchalle', will provide a dedicated page for Miyoshi City, Hiroshima (Mayor: Seishi Fukuoka) within the app starting June 1, launching a health promotion project. This initiative aims to encourage behavioral change through the 'power of community' for all generations, including the working generation, who are difficult to reach through traditional in-person health programs, and the elderly, who may be anxious about digital usage. By connecting through smartphones, the project will promote sustainable health creation as part of the city's Smart City vision. Miyoshi City has been promoting health across all life stages, but for the working generation, who are too busy to exercise, there were limits to health management relying on individual effort. Additionally, for the elderly, the importance of 'digital utilization' and 'social participation' is increasing, and a new approach to solve these simultaneously is required. This project utilizes the 'Minchalle' mechanism, where teams of five encourage each other, with the goals of behavioral change for the working generation, digital well-being for the elderly, and fostering a sense of belonging to the community. Residents and employees in Miyoshi City can participate via the dedicated page 'Kiriko-chan Challenge' in the Minchalle app. In addition to self-management functions such as recording steps and weight, the peer support function, where users work with anonymous teammates, contributes to behavioral change and habit formation. Usage workshops will also be held for elderly people unfamiliar with smartphones to ensure digital inclusion. The city will create an environment where citizens and those working in the city can enjoy health promotion.
