KASOKU Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Keisuke Arai), which handles everything from hotel planning to operation, will grand open the apartment hotel 'RHUMB LINE TOKYO' on Friday, May 29, 2026, just a one-minute walk from Tokyo Station. On the 28th, the day before, we held a preview and opening ceremony for stakeholders. With many people watching, we held a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the start of our journey as a new 'travel hub' in Yaesu. With check-in starting at 16:00 on the 29th, we are finally welcoming our first guests.
The name 'RHUMB LINE TOKYO' is derived from the nautical term 'Rhumb line,' which means a 'constant bearing course to reach a destination without getting lost.' Tokyo's Yaesu district has long served as a starting point for Japanese travel, sending countless travelers onto unknown paths. Embracing this history, we hope to be a 'travel hub' where modern travelers can find their next course and head toward their next destination.
The 30 guest rooms are spacious, ranging from 32㎡ to 64㎡. Every room is equipped with a kitchen and home appliances, making it comfortable for inbound travelers on long-term stays, families, groups, and those on 'bleisure' (business + leisure) trips. On the second floor, 'BAR36,' an Ukiyo-e themed bar inspired by the 'Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji,' has opened, offering a menu themed around Japanese travel as depicted in Ukiyo-e since the Edo period.
The common area from the first-floor entrance to the second-floor front desk welcomes guests with the soft, elegant glow of a Baccarat chandelier. The lounge is a sophisticated, luxurious space with large sofas, creating an inviting entrance to your stay alongside the staff's hospitality.
All 30 rooms are designed with ample space. Each room can accommodate up to 8 people, and various layouts are available depending on the room type, allowing guests to choose the best option for their travel purpose. Since many inbound groups stay for over a week, all rooms are equipped with full-scale kitchens, refrigerators, microwaves, washer-dryers, as well as a full set of tableware and cooking utensils to meet the needs of long-term stays.
For room amenities, we have selected original items and masterpieces from across Japan that focus on materials and craftsmanship. Our original room wear, made from natural materials, helps with temperature regulation and supports a good night's sleep. We also use slippers made with Japanese craftsmanship, and hangers and cups made from recycled materials to ensure a comfortable stay.
While many apartment hotels prioritize efficiency, we value face-to-face service by dedicated staff. Through detailed concierge services such as sightseeing guidance and cultural experience introductions, we combine the functionality of a home with the peace of mind of a luxury hotel. We welcome guests with Japanese tea at check-in to color the beginning of their stay.
The Ukiyo-e bar 'BAR36' on the second floor was named after Katsushika Hokusai's 'Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji.' It offers a new experience of tracing the landscapes of Japan through taste, with pairings of tea, local sake, and Japanese sweets associated with the locations depicted in Ukiyo-e. The wall behind the counter constantly displays Ukiyo-e selected from the 'Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji,' 'Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido,' and 'Sixty-odd Provinces,' with displays changed seasonally. At the grand opening, we started with 6 pairing sets in collaboration with tea plantations, breweries, and confectioneries across Japan, and we plan to expand to all 36 views in stages.
We also offer experience programs exclusively for RHUMB LINE TOKYO guests. Guests can enjoy programs that combine Edo-period 'iki' (chic) with modern sensibilities, such as matcha experiences, Japanese tea tasting combined with Ukiyo-e appreciation, and Ukiyo-e postcard experiences that can be mailed worldwide, all for free during BAR36's operating hours.
RHUMB LINE TOKYO is located in an unparalleled position, just a one-minute walk from the Yaesu Exit of Tokyo Station, the heart of Japan's transportation network. It offers smooth access to Shinkansen and airport limousine buses, and is a place where you can feel the pulse of the new history being carved by the Yaesu and Nihonbashi areas, which continue to evolve through redevelopment.
