The Cava Regulatory Board (headquartered in Spain, chaired by Javier Pagés), in order to further ensure the quality of CAVA, has expanded two of its existing certification systems. First, as of March 2, 2026, five new labels have been certified under the top-tier single-vineyard classification, 'Cava de Guarda Superior de Paraje Calificado,' bringing the total to 14. Additionally, regarding the 'Integral Producer' certification, which is granted to producers who complete all processes from grape pressing to disgorgement in-house, four new wineries were certified as of January 27, 2026, bringing the total to 18. Both systems are officially approved by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, and this expansion indicates that CAVA's quality control system is becoming increasingly rigorous. D.O. CAVA continues to develop its quality assurance framework, and by expanding the core 'Paraje Calificado' and 'Integral Producer' certifications, it aims for further global expansion in 2026.
