Rio Uchida Appears at Ceremony! Defines 'BEYOND LUXURY' as 'Time Spent with Cats' at 'Quartz Shinsaibashi' Opening

Hulic Co., Ltd., Shinsaibashi Development SPC (consisting of L Catterton Real Estate and J. Front City Development Co., Ltd.), Takenaka Corporation, and JR West Real Estate Development Co., Ltd. held the opening ceremony for 'Quartz Shinsaibashi' on April 24, 2026, a day before the facility's official opening on April 25.

At the ceremony, Hulic President Takaya Maeda delivered a greeting, sharing the background of the project and the vision for the facility. Following this, actor Rio Uchida appeared as a guest to talk about Osaka/Shinsaibashi and the facility's concept, 'BEYOND LUXURY: A Step Ahead of Richness.' A ribbon-cutting ceremony was also held to celebrate the birth of Shinsaibashi's newest landmark.

President Maeda stated, 'The luxury of the future is the essential richness found in daily life.' He reflected on the four-year journey since the plan was announced in 2022 and thanked everyone involved. Regarding the concept, he explained, 'Luxury here does not simply mean being high-end. It's about spending quality time for oneself, sharing delicious food with companions, making others happy, and being healthy.'

Rio Uchida appeared in a black jacket dress inspired by the luxury theme. 'The space itself feels luxurious with its open atrium. There are so many dining options and shopping is fun. Having a hotel on the upper floors is also wonderful,' she commented. Regarding her own 'BEYOND LUXURY,' she answered 'Time spent with my cat,' explaining that even on tired or down days, spending time with her cat allows her to be herself and feels like a true luxury.
