A Decade-Long Reunion and the 'Unchosen Future' Set in Guam

The Guam Visitors Bureau announces that the TV Tokyo drama 'The Reason I'm With You: Special Edition – The Day in Guam Continues,' in which the bureau is participating as a special collaborator, will air from 12:30 AM to 1:30 AM on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

This special edition is a follow-up to the human drama series 'The Reason I'm With You – One Week in Guam with Three Couples,' which aired in July 2025. Filmed entirely on location in Guam, this installment stars Kohei Maeda and Hitomi Miyake in dual lead roles, portraying a story of two thirty-somethings who, while revisiting past decisions, reflect on their current happiness against the backdrop of Guam.

The drama captures Guam’s natural landscapes, cityscapes, and the rhythm of daily life, interwoven with the emotional journey of two people reuniting after ten years. The Guam Visitors Bureau aims to promote Guam as a compelling travel destination through this drama.

Time Resumes in Guam: A Decade Later

Uemura Hana, a freelance editor, travels alone to Guam to attend her friend’s wedding. There, she reunites with Umino Kairi, her former lover from college days. Now a diving instructor in Guam, Kairi is also a single father raising his daughter.

Their reunion after ten years prompts Hana to confront the question: 'What if I had chosen a different future back then?' Set against Guam’s open skies and serene atmosphere, this is a one-night human drama where past emotions and present happiness are reexamined.
