Grid Share Japan Launches AI Optimization Service to Control Water Heating Times for Daikin's "Ohisama EcoCute"

Grid Share Japan Co., Ltd. (GSJ) has been accepting general web applications for its "Grid Share Service" for Daikin Industries, Ltd.'s residential "EcoCute" heat pump water heaters since June, as jointly announced with Daikin Industries, Ltd. on April 20, 2026. We are pleased to announce that starting today, July 8, our AI optimization control service "Gridshare" has begun to integrate with Daikin's "Ohisama EcoCute" series, expanding the range of compatible models.

Background and Features of Integration with "Ohisama EcoCute" Daikin's "Ohisama EcoCute" is a next-generation water heater that utilizes surplus solar power and heats water during the day when temperatures are high and energy efficiency is good. Compared to conventional models that heat water at night, this reduces heat loss from the tank and is environmentally and economically friendly.

By integrating with the "Grid Share Service," this "Ohisama EcoCute" will further optimize water heating automatically, with AI accurately predicting each customer's electricity consumption patterns and the next day's weather and solar power generation.

1. "Fully Automatic AI Risk Hedging" Based on Weather While "Ohisama EcoCute" primarily heats water during the day, the AI will perform flexible control based on the weather. For example, on days with insufficient solar power generation, such as rainy or cloudy days, the AI will automatically shift the water heating time to nighttime to utilize cheaper nighttime electricity. This maximizes electricity cost savings while eliminating the cumbersome task of customers manually checking weather forecasts and changing settings daily.

2. Maximize Self-Consumption with Integrated Control of "Home Battery x Ohisama EcoCute" Customers who already own a "Gridshare" compatible home battery can achieve integrated control of the entire home's energy from both "electricity" and "hot water" by combining it with "Ohisama EcoCute." This allows for more efficient utilization of solar power through "fully automatic AI control," achieving both comfort and economy.

Through this service, which increases the self-consumption rate of solar power, GSJ will continue to contribute to "reducing electricity bills" and "promoting a decarbonized society."
