Copado Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Miho Funakoshi, hereinafter "Copado") conducted a survey on the actual state of AI utilization in Salesforce development and operations targeting 110 individuals involved in these tasks at companies with 300 or more employees. We are pleased to announce the results.
01 | Over 60% of Salesforce Development and Operations Staff at Companies with 300+ Employees Utilize Generative AI/AI Agents in Their Work
02 | Of those utilizing AI, 66.7% responded, "There is no system or mechanism to verify the accuracy of output results."
03 | While 88.1% feel their operations are siloed, 86.4% expect AI to standardize them.
This survey revealed that while the utilization of generative AI/AI agents is expanding to over 60% in Salesforce development and operations sites, even among those already using it, the "lack of a system to verify output results" is a recognized challenge.
Particularly noteworthy is that many staff members, while experiencing operational silos, place strong expectations on AI for standardization as a solution. The focus of AI utilization is shifting from "Can we implement it?" to "Once implemented, how do we design quality assurance and organizational deployment?" Without a verification system and knowledge sharing, utilization risks remaining dependent on quality and personnel.
1. How far has generative AI adoption progressed?
Among Salesforce development and operations staff, 27.3% are "utilizing company-wide," and 35.5% are "utilizing in some tasks/teams," totaling 62.8% who have incorporated generative AI/AI agents into their work.
On the other hand, approximately 40%, comprising those "still in the consideration/testing phase" (26.4%) and those "not utilizing and with no plans to do so" (10.0%), have yet to implement it. In areas where utilization is progressing, "Development (code generation/configuration)" leads at 68.1%, followed by "Testing/operation verification" and "Operations/maintenance (manual creation, etc.)," both at 60.9%.
2. What are the barriers faced by users and non-users?
The most frequently cited challenge by those already utilizing AI was "There is no system or mechanism to verify the accuracy of AI output results" (66.7%), followed by "Restrictions on usage due to security and data governance" (59.4%) and "Concentration of personnel capable of effective prompting" (50.7%).
Conversely, among those who have not yet implemented AI, "Difficulty in deciding which tool to choose" (45.0%) and "Concerns about security and governance" (42.5%) were the top reasons. The foundational work for correct utilization is emerging as a common challenge at both the entry point of adoption and in actual operations.
3. Expectations for standardization through "AI standardization" amid operational silos?
Responses indicating that their company's Salesforce operations are dependent on specific individuals reached 88.1%, with reasons cited as "Few personnel in-house capable of handling Apex, etc." (58.8%) and "Insufficient documentation of development history and change logs" (51.5%).
Against this backdrop of operational silos, 86.4% expect that "AI can standardize operations," with the rationale being that "a certain quality of deliverables can be produced regardless of the staff member's skill level" (63.2%). Furthermore, the most emphasized point for AI utilization is "the existence of a system to verify and test deliverables" (54.5%), indicating a demand for an AI foundation that can break down operational silos while ensuring quality.
