Shidax Contract Food Service Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Yusuke Tsutsumi; hereafter, SCF), which provides meal services for companies, schools, and other institutions nationwide, announced today that in March 2026, it significantly exceeded its initial goal of 'achieving an 80% salt-reduction promotion store rate by FY2025' for the 'Strategic Initiative for Creating a Healthy and Sustainable Food Environment' (※1) (hereafter, the Initiative) promoted by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, achieving certification in 100% of all targeted stores.

The Initiative addresses critical social issues such as 'excessive salt (sodium) intake,' 'thinness in young women,' and 'nutritional disparities due to economic disparities,' along with environmental challenges. It aims to create a food environment where everyone can naturally become healthy, through collaboration among industry, academia, and government. SCF became the first food service company to participate in September 2022, establishing its unique internal certification system, 'Salt-Reduction Promotion Store Certification,' to address the nutritional issue of 'excessive salt intake.' The company has been promoting salt reduction (appropriate salt intake) initiatives in the company cafeterias and school cafeterias it operates nationwide.

SCF has introduced this system to 433 contract food service locations and certified 218 as 'Salt-Reduction Promotion Stores' (as of March 2026). Among these, approximately 60 cafeterias in office buildings, excluding those designated as specific nutrition management facilities under the Health Promotion Act, were set as commitment targets for the Initiative, with a goal of achieving an '80% salt-reduction promotion store rate by FY2025.' Through menu provision in collaboration with Nippon Eiyo University (※2), efforts such as adjusting soup portions for ramen, and raising awareness about salt reduction via posters, SCF has implemented a multifaceted approach. As a result, understanding and ingenuity spread across stores, ultimately leading to the achievement of 'certification in all targeted stores (100%),' surpassing the initial goal.

This achievement not only contributes to solving social issues but also responds to the high needs of companies promoting health management. Moving forward, SCF will continue to contribute to people's health through food and promote the creation of sustainable food environments nationwide.
