Sony Group Corporation and Sony Design Consulting Inc. are participating in the 'IN-HOUSE -> SOCIAL DESIGN UNIT' project at the Isetan Shinjuku Store. The exhibition, 'The Yet Unseen Kokeshi Dolls Created by Designers from Sony and Fujifilm,' aims to solve social issues by leveraging the creativity of in-house designers. For this first installment, Sony designers collaborated with Naomichi Sakurai, a craftsman of traditional Naruko Kokeshi from Sakurai Kokeshi. Blending traditional essence with modern aesthetics, they created a diverse lineup: 'Matou Kokeshi' (silk scarves featuring craftsman brushstrokes); 'Yosoou Kokeshi' (traditional dolls dressed in knitwear, dyed with natural colors); 'Meguru Kokeshi' (spinning tops upcycled from wood scraps of the kokeshi-making process); 'Ukeru Kokeshi' (decorative vessels inspired by the woodworking lathe process); and 'Tomoru Kokeshi' (pendant lights inspired by traditional kokeshi shapes). The event runs from June 17 to June 25, 2026, at the Isetan Shinjuku Store, with online sales starting June 3, 2026.
