Sony Life Insurance Co., Ltd. (President and Representative Director: Hiroyuki Tsubota, hereinafter "the Company") will once again sponsor the "Sony Life Cup All Japan Ladies Tennis Tournament," Japan's largest amateur women's tennis tournament.

Prefectural tournaments kicked off on May 16, 2026 (Sat), with heated matches unfolding across the country. The national finals, where the top 3 pairs advancing from the prefectural tournaments will compete, will be held at the sacred ground of tennis, "Ariake Tennis Forest Park," continuing from last year.

Under its corporate slogan "Live with purpose. Love your life.", the Company contributes to local communities by supporting activities centered around its Life Planners at each prefectural tournament. Through the distribution of cheering fans and on-site support, we will cheer for the purposeful lives of participating athletes and their visiting families and friends.

About the Sony Life Cup All Japan Ladies Tennis Tournament

This tournament is a traditional women's doubles tennis competition, now in its 48th year, aiming to realize a society where women can shine with purpose, promote health, and contribute to the development of tennis through connections with family and community.

This year, the tournament's catchphrase has been renewed to "This challenge is not alone." It expresses how the support of those around us, such as friends, family, and encouraging cheers, allows us to continue pursuing tennis, and how this accumulation leads to a "purposeful life." This idea resonates with the Company's corporate slogan "Live with purpose. Love your life.", which conveys the desire to support many people in feeling special moments (= purpose) in their daily lives, to live authentically, and to realize a society filled with such individuals.

In the prefectural tournaments, intense matches are played across the country as participants aim to become prefectural representatives. The national finals, held in December at "Ariake Tennis Forest Park," will feature a total of 7 participants per team, including the top 3 pairs who have won their prefectural tournaments and secured their representative spots, plus a coach. A team competition will be held in a tournament format.

The national finals are a "doubles" competition, and furthermore, a "team" competition. Victory cannot be achieved alone; it is possible with the support and cheers of teammates. The matches are thrilling, befitting a tournament that transcends the amateur level, unfolding on all courts. It is a tournament where participants can feel the bonds not only with their partners but also with their teammates.
