Overview of the Nutritional Education and Gymnastics Clinic On May 16, TableMark Co., Ltd. partnered with the Japan Gymnastics Association to host the 'TableMark Presents Nutritional Education Seminar, Competition Floor Tour & Gymnastics Clinic' at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, held concurrently with the 65th NHK Cup Gymnastics.
TableMark has been an Official Top Sponsor for the Japan national gymnastics team since 2011. In collaboration with the association, the company has been conducting initiatives since 2022 at major domestic tournaments to teach children the importance of diet and exercise.
For this event, 15 children from gymnastics clubs and their guardians, totaling 30 participants, were invited. In addition to learning about nutrition, they explored the competition floor and touched the equipment used in the NHK Cup, gaining a unique experience available only at the competition venue.
Event Program Details ### Nutritional Education Seminar Under the theme 'Food is Power,' participants learned about the energy required for physical development during growth stages, the importance of breakfast, and the three food groups. The seminar featured quizzes highlighting the breakfast menus of elite athletes like Daiki Hashimoto and Rina Kishi, as well as their dietary awareness during elementary school. Participants expressed that it gave them an opportunity to think about the importance of balanced meals.
### Competition Floor Tour & Gymnastics Clinic During the floor tour, participants received explanations about equipment features and performance points from Hikaru Tanaka of the Japan Gymnastics Association (former Head of Women's Development). After trying out the competition equipment, they held a gymnastics clinic on the floor mat used for the NHK Cup.
### Awards Ceremony The 'TableMark Award,' presented to the winner of the NHK Cup, was awarded to Misaki Nishiyama by the children who participated in the nutritional seminar and gymnastics clinic.
