A live-action drama adaptation of "Sekigae Shitara, Douyara Ushiro no Otoko ga Ore no Koto Suki Rashii" (published by BeLuck Bunko / Starts Publishing), written by Mashiro Ito and winner of the grand prize at the 1st Nobema! BL Short Story Contest, has been confirmed for a television broadcast starting in summer 2026. The drama will feature a dual-lead cast of talented young actor Eito Konishi and Motonosuke, for whom this will be his first leading role in a series.

The story begins when the ordinary high school student Haru Mayama (Eito Konishi) receives a sudden confession from the incredibly handsome and popular boy in the seat behind him, Kosei Asamiya (Motonosuke). While Mayama is bewildered, Asamiya's affection grows stronger by the day. It is a coming-of-age Boys' Love story about a popular boy who is straightforward in love and a pure, inexperienced boy.

Eito Konishi, playing Haru Mayama, expressed his genuine happiness to be part of such a wonderful project, stating his commitment to "face the role seriously and enjoy performing with a fresh feeling." Motonosuke, in the role of Kosei Asamiya, mentioned his excitement from the moment he heard the impactful title and commented that the script's appeal lies in its realistic portrayal of interpersonal distance and overlapping feelings.

The original author, Mashiro Ito, conveyed gratitude and joy, saying, "It still feels like a dream that the story in my head became a book and has now been given this wonderful opportunity of a screen adaptation." Regarding the lead actors, Ito expressed anticipation, adding, "As a fan myself, I can't wait for the broadcast."

The original novel is a love story between high school boys that begins with a simple change of seats and has garnered support from readers for its depiction of delicate emotional changes.

The drama will be directed by Yoshika Nakayama and Yudai Nara, with the screenplay by Kento Goto. Further details about the broadcasting station and schedule will be announced at a later date.
