Nichicon Corporation (Chairman: Ippei Takeda; Head Office: Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto) announced the launch of a new service that aggregates the CO2 reductions generated through daily household energy usage by users of its home energy storage systems and returns the environmental value (credits) to them.

Background of the Service

Efforts toward '2050 Carbon Neutrality' as a countermeasure against global warming are accelerating. For ordinary households, self-consumption of solar power and efficient energy management using storage systems play a vital role in achieving a decarbonized society. Nichicon has contributed to improving home resilience and reducing utility costs by providing high-quality storage systems.

We are launching this service to visualize the 'environmental contribution' created by users daily and return that value to them, making environmental contributions feel more accessible.

Service Overview

This service aggregates the CO2 reductions from clean energy self-consumed by users utilizing solar power and energy storage systems. Nichicon consolidates these reductions and processes them into 'J-Credits'.

[Eligibility]

Users who have already installed Nichicon energy storage systems and are members of the Nichicon Owners Club and subscribed to the monitoring service. (Restrictions apply, such as installation within two years. Membership may not be available depending on the type of subsidy used during installation. Please check the admission conditions on the application form.)

[Mechanism]

Power data from each household is automatically aggregated to calculate CO2 reductions. Nichicon then bundles the data from multiple households and handles the credit certification procedure.

[Benefits]

Annual digital gifts worth 1,200 JPY are provided based on the generated credits.

What is the J-Credit Scheme?

The J-Credit scheme is a system in which the Japanese government certifies CO2 reductions from energy conservation or the use of renewable energy as 'environmental value'. This value can be used for various purposes, such as achieving goals under the Keidanren Carbon Neutral Action Plan or for carbon offsetting.

Launch Commemorative Campaign

To commemorate the launch, we are holding a campaign. Those who apply for the service during the campaign period will receive a digital gift worth 2,000 JPY (limited to the first 1,000 applicants, scheduled for Spring 2027).

Campaign Period: From 2:00 PM on May 25, 2026, to 11:59 PM on August 31, 2026.
