A large-scale organic mushroom cultivation facility in Natori City, Miyagi Prefecture (near Sendai Airport), boasting top-class production capacity in Japan, has launched its unique 'Wood Ear Mushroom Harvesting Experience.'

The facility primarily cultivates wood ear mushrooms and aims to share the high nutritional value of Natori's produce through this interactive program. Participants can tour the facility, learn about cultivation, and enjoy picking as many mushrooms as they can fit into a basket to take home. The experience also includes a tasting session of fresh wood ear mushrooms.

Established on the site of the tsunami damage from the Great East Japan Earthquake, the facility also aims to contribute to regional revitalization. With parking available for large buses, it welcomes tourists, school field trips for kindergartens and elementary schools, and corporate welfare programs. It serves as a hub for food education and tourism that both children and adults can enjoy.

[Typical Schedule (50-60 minutes)] 1. Assembly & Facility Tour: Explanation of the facility and cultivation methods. 2. Harvesting Experience: Instruction followed by all-you-can-pick in a basket. 3. Packing: Packaging the harvested mushrooms to take home. 4. Tasting: Sampling fresh mushrooms while learning about nutrition and recipes. 5. Shop & Commemorative Photo: Shopping at the direct sales store and photos.
