Victor Entertainment Corp. (Headquarters: Shibuya, Tokyo; President: Akira Ono) has announced its participation in the 'Shibuya Otonari Sunday' event on June 7, 2026. The company will host a 'Nipper Booth' dedicated to showcasing the history and appeal of Nipper, the iconic fox terrier featured in the company's logo.
Since 2017, Shibuya Ward has organized 'Shibuya Otonari Sunday' to address challenges in urban community building and to revitalize local social ties. The initiative aims to create opportunities for residents, workers, and visitors to interact and form lasting connections. On the first Sunday of June, events are held simultaneously across various locations in the ward.
Supporting this vision, Victor Entertainment will set up its booth in the Owada area. This year's highlight is the 'Rock-Paper-Scissors Challenge,' where participants who win three consecutive rounds against staff members will receive exclusive Nipper merchandise. Participation is free for those who follow Nipper’s official social media accounts. The booth will also feature merchandise sales and the distribution of educational materials regarding Nipper’s history.
In conjunction with the event, the company continues to promote its podcast, 'Heartwarming Animal Stories ~Another Nipper Story~,' produced in collaboration with J-WAVE (81.3FM). Hosted by Celeina Ann, the program invites listeners to share moving anecdotes about animals, inspired by the story of Nipper listening to his late master's voice.
Nipper’s legacy dates back to 1889, when British painter Francis Barraud captured the dog listening intently to a gramophone playing a recording of his deceased owner. This image, titled 'His Master's Voice,' was registered as a trademark in 1900 and remains a global symbol of technical excellence and loyalty.
