Tourism Fiji hosted the 'Japan Roadshow 2026' on May 19 (Tuesday) in Tokyo and May 21 (Thursday) in Osaka, targeting travel agencies and media representatives. Over 120 industry professionals attended across the two venues.

This roadshow was the first event conducted under a new organizational structure for the Japanese market, which was revamped in April 2026.

A total of nine suppliers from Fiji participated, including: - Fiji Airways - Shangri-La Yanuca Island, Fiji - Nanuku Resort Fiji - Warwick Fiji - Yasawa Island Resort & Spa - The Naviti Resort - The Pearl Resort & Spa Fiji - Island Hoppers - VOU Hub

The event featured a welcome performance, followed by Tourism Fiji's presentation on its Japan market strategy, supplier presentations, and B2B matchmaking sessions. The networking session utilized a rotation format across 10 tables, allowing for intensive discussions over approximately 1.5 hours. A luncheon reception concluded the event, highlighted by a lucky draw featuring prizes like round-trip airline tickets.

Hayato Negoro, Japan Representative for Tourism Fiji, commented: 'I am delighted that so many people attended our first roadshow under the new structure. Fiji is a unique destination reachable via direct flights from Narita in approximately 9 hours, with no fuel surcharges. We are committed to boosting awareness and growing the market together with travel agents.'

Fiji welcomed a record 930,000 global visitors in 2025. Following a 2025 performance of 8,360 visitors from Japan, the board has set a target of 14,000 visitors from Japan in 2026, representing a 1.6-fold increase. Under its new agency structure, Tourism Fiji plans to boost brand awareness and market position through a B2BtoC promotion strategy.
