Tokyo Office Check, operated by Property Design Co., Ltd., conducted a survey on 'desired work areas in Tokyo' targeting 414 men and women aged 20 to 60 nationwide.

As a result, Shinjuku ranked first, surpassing Marunouchi, which has long been synonymous with Tokyo business districts. Combining convenience, name recognition, and vibrancy, Shinjuku has become the No. 1 city people want to work in.

The top reason for selecting an area is 'ease of train transfers' (18.4%), clearly indicating a trend toward prioritizing practicality over status. The second reason is 'liking the atmosphere of the town' (17.6%).

Regarding commuting frequency, 47.8% reported commuting '5 days a week or more,' indicating that office-based work styles remain the mainstream. Only 15.5% engage in full remote work.
