The 'Marie Antoinette Style' exhibition, showcasing the 'style' of the French Queen who continues to fascinate people across generations, will be held at the Yokohama Museum of Art starting Saturday, August 1, 2026.
A press conference was held at the Tokyo International Forum on Tuesday, May 19, where it was announced that model and actress Ayami Nakajo would serve as the ambassador for the exhibition.
Nakajo commented, "I dressed with the image of Marie Antoinette's worldview in mind." She shared that she grew to admire the queen after watching a film about her, finding a sense of connection with her inner loneliness. She also expressed her excitement for the 'Marie Antoinette's Three-Strand Pearl and Diamond Necklace,' which will be exhibited in Japan for the first time.
[Exhibition Overview] This exhibition explores the innovative nature of Marie Antoinette, the most fashionable queen in history, through her attire and interiors. It is a world-touring exhibition planned by London's Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), with the Yokohama Museum of Art being the only venue in Japan.
