Approximately two and a half years have passed since the Noto Peninsula Earthquake in January 2024. In the Noto region, progress is being made from recovery to reconstruction, and the creation of an environment where people can continue to live with peace of mind is increasingly needed. Furthermore, energy prices have continued to rise in recent years, increasing interest in the burden of hot water supply, which is essential for daily life.

Maruyasu Industries Co., Ltd. will implement Noto reconstruction support utilizing "ReTerra," a solar hot water supply system with the concept of "Everyday life without worrying about hot water." We will donate ReTerra to two public facilities in Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture, to deliver peace of mind with hot water as essential living infrastructure supporting the local community.

Maruyasu Industries Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture, President and CEO: Taiichiro Yamada) will implement Noto reconstruction support utilizing the solar hot water supply system "ReTerra."

Approximately two and a half years have passed since the Noto Peninsula Earthquake occurred in January 2024. In the Noto region, progress is being made from recovery to reconstruction, and creating an environment where local residents can continue to live with peace of mind is now an important theme.

Meanwhile, energy prices have continued to rise in recent years, and there is growing concern about the cost of utilities for households and community facilities. Hot water supply, in particular, is essential living infrastructure for daily life, including bathing, cooking, and hygiene management, and its stable use is a crucial element for continuing to live with peace of mind.

We wanted to provide support that would sustain life going forward, not just temporary assistance. In this context, we focused on "hot water." Through ReTerra, which uses solar heat to produce hot water, we aim to deliver peace of mind with hot water to local residents and contribute to supporting their lives after reconstruction.

[Focus on Hot Water]

When considering what is necessary to support life after reconstruction, we focused on "hot water."

Hot water is important infrastructure that supports daily life, including bathing, cooking, hand washing, and cleaning. However, energy prices have continued to rise in recent years, and the burden of hot water supply has become significant. In disaster-stricken areas, reducing ongoing costs, not just comfort, is also a key challenge for supporting life after reconstruction.

ReTerra is a solar hot water supply system that produces hot water using solar heat. By utilizing renewable energy, it contributes to reducing hot water supply energy consumption and aims to realize "everyday life without worrying about hot water." It is also equipped with a 200L storage tank, which can potentially be used as domestic water during disasters. Furthermore, it features a 10-year maintenance-free design, and major components can be replaced to ensure long-term use.

We want to provide support that continues to be there for the community, not just temporary assistance. We believe ReTerra is equipment that can embody this sentiment, providing peace of mind with hot water and serving as infrastructure to support ongoing life.

[Reconstruction Support for Nanao City Public Facilities]

<Notojima Community Center>

Initially, we considered donating to disaster-stricken areas of the Noto Peninsula Earthquake. However, as it was difficult to accept donations of goods, we explored other ways to contribute to the region.

Subsequently, with the cooperation of the Okazaki Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Nanao Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we proceeded with discussions regarding the introduction of ReTerra to public facilities in Nanao City. As a result, the introduction to the Notojima Community Center and the Tokuda Community Center has been decided, with installation work scheduled to take place from June 30 to July 3, 2026.

<Tokuda Community Center>

Both facilities are important community hubs used for local resident interaction, various events, and welfare activities. They also serve as gathering places for local residents during disasters.

By delivering "peace of mind with hot water" to places where local residents gather, we aim to help support their daily lives that continue after reconstruction.

Furthermore, we will continue to consider ways to provide support tailored to the local situation, beyond this donation.

[Comment from Shingo Torii, Managing Executive Officer]

"Since the Noto Peninsula Earthquake occurred, we have been constantly thinking about what we can do. Now that we are moving from recovery to reconstruction, we believe that support that will remain in the region long-term is necessary, rather than temporary assistance. ReTerra is a product developed with the concept of 'everyday life without worrying about hot water.' Hot water is essential infrastructure for daily life and leads to people's peace of mind. Through this project, we hope to deliver peace of mind with hot water to local residents and contribute to supporting their ongoing lives. We will continue to address social issues through ReTerra."

[Future Development]

We will continue to consider support activities tailored to the local situation.

Furthermore, by leveraging the knowledge gained through this initiative, we will work to propose new value of "disaster preparedness through daily use" in addition to realizing "everyday life without worrying about hot water."

ReTerra aims to be a hot water supply system that not only supports comfortable daily life but also provides peace of mind during disasters. We will continue to contribute to life and local communities through the utilization of renewable energy.
