The Mobile Computing Promotion Consortium (hereinafter referred to as "MCPC") has established a new logo and catchphrase, selected from safety awareness logos solicited from the general public, to call for the safe use of mobile devices.

This logo aims to raise awareness of risks that can occur during daily use, such as leaving devices in high-temperature environments or impacting batteries.

The selection of this logo and catchphrase was made after a rigorous review process by a selection committee composed of MCPC member companies.

● Establishment of New Safety Awareness Logo & Catchphrase and Public Solicitation Status

Recently, there has been an increase in accidents such as built-in lithium-ion batteries igniting in mobile devices like smartphones and mobile batteries*1. A new awareness theme was set to caution against leaving devices in high-temperature environments, including impact on batteries, and a call for logo and catchphrase submissions was made through public solicitation. Submissions were received from a wide range of age groups, including high school students (as a class) and elementary school students.

In addition to such cautionary measures, MCPC has also been implementing a self-declaration system based on the Mobile Battery Safety and Quality Guidelines since June, to clearly indicate businesses' efforts in ensuring safety and quality, serving as a reference for users when choosing products. < https://www.mcpc-jp.org/mbat_2/ >

● Deployment of New Logo and Catchphrase

The new logo and catchphrase are planned to be displayed on mobile device packaging, instruction manuals, and websites, similar to the previous "Safety Awareness Logo & Catchphrase."

Data related to this logo and catchphrase will be made available for widespread use by the general public in the future. Detailed information will be posted on the MCPC official website at a later date.

The "Safety Awareness Logo & Catchphrase" provided by MCPC is widely used by member companies on product bodies, packaging boxes, instruction manuals, and promotional materials. The newly established logo and catchphrase will replace one of the two types that have been provided traditionally.
