Development Background: Achieving Affordable Pricing and High Satisfaction
The 'Dashi o Tamaeru' kamameshi mix series targets families who wish to enjoy takikomi gohan as part of their daily meals. Takikomi gohan, exemplified by kamameshi, is valued for its convenience—allowing a complete meal with one fewer side dish.
Additionally, a 2022 survey conducted by our company revealed that consumers prioritize 'seasoning' over 'ingredients' when it comes to takikomi gohan mixes. Among those who emphasized seasoning, the key expectation was 'rich dashi flavor' (Reference ①②).
In response, we have enhanced our signature umami dashi—crafted from five domestic ingredients (katsuobushi, saba, muro, yakiaji, and kombu)—by adding deeply flavorful 'chicken dashi' and 'Munakata katsuobushi dashi' to create a more complex and satisfying taste.
The new 'Dashi o Tamaeru' series is priced affordably at 250 yen (270 yen incl. tax, under the 8% reduced tax rate), lower than our existing 'Umami Dashi' and 'Local Specialty' series. This offers households under financial pressure from rising living costs a way to reduce side dishes while still enjoying a satisfying meal.

Stabilizing Rice Prices
Rice prices, which saw abnormal spikes in previous years, are now returning to stable levels. According to the 'Provisional Relative Transaction Prices of Rice (Harvest of Reiwa 7)' published by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the average price of Reiwa 7 rice (all varieties) has dropped to about 90% compared to September of the previous year. With the upcoming harvest of new rice in Reiwa 8, rice is expected to appear more frequently on dining tables.

Yamamori will continue to deliver high-value, delicious meals to everyday dining tables, providing nourishment for both 'mind' and 'body.'
