VitaNet Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Takeo Yamada) has officially launched CloudAuth™ (CloudAuth). CloudAuth™ is a 'guidance-oriented digital platform' that systematizes and commercializes a mechanism proven in real-world environments—such as Naha Airport, Yui Rail, and retail chain stores—to prompt appropriate user actions based on their location and context. Alongside this launch, the company has also begun offering the CloudAuth SDK, a software development kit that enables organizations to easily integrate CloudAuth™ into their official apps. Enterprises and local governments can now deliver new services in a short timeframe simply by embedding the CloudAuth SDK into their existing official applications.
Concept of CloudAuth™: Evolving corporate and municipal official apps into a 'guidance-oriented digital platform' connected to real-world spaces.
To date, VitaNet has utilized AccuNotify™ (AccuNotifyfai), a technology that creates new customer touchpoints by enabling smartphones to naturally interact with physical environments. At Naha Airport, this achieved a CTR of 14.9% and a user satisfaction score of 4.77. Further deployment at Yui Rail and commercial facilities demonstrated its effectiveness as a 'guidance-oriented digital platform' that naturally guides users to their next destination. In physical stores of retail chains, AccuNotify™ recorded nearly four times the CTR of QR codes, with statistically significant differences confirmed. VitaNet now offers CloudAuth™ as a shared 'guidance-oriented digital platform' that enables all businesses to leverage these proven results.
Four APIs to Gradually Evolve Official Apps
The CloudAuth SDK allows organizations to incrementally add the functions of CloudAuth™’s guidance-oriented digital platform to existing official apps by using its four APIs individually or in combination. This enables a seamless user experience within a single official app—from targeted advertising and information delivery to user guidance, facility access, and high-level authentication required for payments.
CloudAuth SDK architecture: By selecting and combining the four APIs according to use cases, a single official app can handle everything from advertising and information delivery to facility access and user authentication.
AccuNotify™ (AccuNotifyfai) When users approach stores, product shelves, stations, or facilities, it delivers location-specific micro-targeted ads, coupons, product information, and facility guides. It also supports a silent mode that does not display notifications, allowing the official app’s screen and functions to change based on location. Using Secure Beacon technology (patent pending), it securely supports not only information delivery but also everyday ticketless entry and door unlocking.
AccuAuth™ (AccuOath) Interprets a notification tap as a 'user authentication request' and performs high-level mutual authentication using one-time keys (proprietary patent), equivalent to financial transaction standards. Ideal for services requiring stricter identity verification beyond simple entry checks, such as membership verification linked to payments or guaranteed product pickup.
RangingAuth™ (RangingOath) Enables 'hands-free' high-level authentication using one-time keys simply by approaching—without needing to take out the smartphone. Suitable for services where hands-free access is essential, such as transit gates, facility entrances, offices, and unmanned services.
instantAuth™ (InstantOath) Used when locations requiring high-level one-time key authentication are predetermined. Ideal for services that require strict management of authentication location and timing, or for advanced access control. Can also be used to add high-level authentication to QR codes.
Supports AI-Powered Software Development for Rapid Implementation
The CloudAuth™ SDK supports AI-driven software development by including technical documentation in Markdown format and reference source code applications.
In two iOS app examples published by VitaNet, generative AI successfully integrated the CloudAuth SDK into the apps using these technical documents and reference code—without any manual coding. After the first build, real-device authentication was immediately verified. By using the AI-compatible CloudAuth SDK, enterprises and local governments can implement CloudAuth™ into their existing official apps in a short period.
Future Developments
CloudAuth™ will continuously evolve corporate and municipal official apps, transforming physical spaces such as stores, airports, stations, and commercial facilities into ongoing touchpoints with users. Furthermore, by organically linking these touchpoints to user guidance, facility usage, and identity authentication, it will evolve real-world spaces into a new digital platform where businesses and users remain continuously connected.
Integration with UWB (Ultra-Wideband) technology, which has recently gained attention, is also under consideration. While UWB typically integrates with Bluetooth, combining CloudAuth™’s low-power, wide-area proximity detection with UWB’s centimeter-level high-precision positioning aims to unlock new use cases.
