About the Lake Towada Lake Water Festival Celebrating 90 years since its designation as a National Park, the 61st Lake Towada Lake Water Festival will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026. The popular balloon lantern launching event has been rebranded as 'Towada-ko Melty Light.'

Experience 'Towada-ko Melty Light' 'Towada-ko Melty Light' is an experience that creates a magical night view between the sky and the lake using the lights of balloon lanterns. Participants release them simultaneously, filling the view with orange and blue light. Messages can be written on the lanterns with special pens. For environmental conservation, the lanterns remain attached to strings and are taken home by participants after the event.

Participation and Fees Advance online purchase of balloon lanterns is required. The regular price is 7,200 yen (tax included), with a limited number of early bird discounted tickets available for 6,800 yen (tax included).
