The Regional Revitalization Partners Network (R-NET), based in Shibuya, Tokyo, will host a tourism seminar on June 1, 2026. The event features high-level speakers from the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) and two major Regional Destination Management Organizations (DMOs). The seminar is designed for participants of the "Tourism e-Academy Basic Course" (formerly Tourism HR Academy), a program selected by the Japan Tourism Agency for its DMO human resource development initiative.
Themed "Tourism Regional Support by JNTO and Regional DMOs," the seminar will feature Daigo Yoshii (Director, JNTO Regional Promotion Linkage Office), Akio Kobori (Executive Director, Kanto District Transport Bureau/Regional Tourism Organization), and Daisuke Terasawa (Managing Director, Central Japan Regional Tourism Association). They will discuss collaborative promotion projects across Japan’s ten regional blocks and provide insights into local tourism support via a panel discussion.
Key features of the program include:
1. Seminar Overview Date: June 1, 2026 Venue: Prefectural Center (Tokyo) and Online Program: Includes a keynote panel on regional support and a group session on tourism DX and human resource development.
2. Tourism e-Academy Basic Course This on-demand e-learning program is tailored for new DMO staff and local government officials. It consists of eight 15-minute sessions covering tourism management, marketing, financial resources, and digital transformation (DX).
3. R-NET DMO Framework Provision Participants will receive a strategic framework in PowerPoint format. This includes practical templates for PEST, SWOT, STP, and 4P/4C analysis, enabling local practitioners to immediately apply learning to regional strategies and business plans.
4. Practitioner Network R-NET emphasizes that learning continues after the course. The seminar aims to build a continuous networking platform where DMOs can share case studies and solve challenges through cross-regional collaboration.
Tomoki Muramatsu, Representative Director of R-NET, noted that the goal is to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical implementation, creating a platform where DMOs nationwide can connect beyond regional boundaries.
