With the global blue economy projected to exceed $3 trillion by 2030, industry, government, and academia will discuss the creation of 'marine businesses' and sustainable marine development opportunities. 3rd Blue Economy Japan Summit to be Held on June 2 (Tue)

Half a year has passed since the closing of the 'Marine Expo.' The expo highlighted the potential for creating new industries and innovations by leveraging the sea, a valuable asset of Japan. The global market size of the blue economy is projected to exceed $3 trillion (approximately 450-500 trillion yen) by 2030. Surrounded by the sea on all sides and possessing the world's 6th largest exclusive economic zone, Japan sees this domain as a critical frontier for new industry creation.

The Blue Economy Co-Creation Subcommittee of the Yumeshima New Industry and City Creation Organization is developing a wide range of activities to ensure the sustainable development of Beyond EXPO, including the creation of new 'marine businesses' (Umi-gyo), environmental and energy initiatives, blue carbon industries, and high-end blue inbound tourism business.
