Sendai, Miyagi｜Sponsors Wanted for Maternity Boxes Supporting Parenting Families

General Incorporated Association KOSODATE PLATFORM MaRU (headquartered in Miyagino Ward, Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture; Representative: Kaumi Ohashi) is now accepting sponsors for the third phase (August 2026–July 2027) of its original Maternity Box project. Launched and developed by MaRU in 2023, 'Maternity Box Tipu' is a monthly support box gifted free of charge to 10 families expecting a child, designed to assist households during the infant parenting stage. MaRU aims to prevent isolation among parenting families and realize a 'parenting-together' society. To help expecting families connect with the local community from early pregnancy and start parenting with confidence, MaRU collaborates with local businesses and childcare support organizations, filling each Tipu box with regional parenting information and useful baby items. We welcome any businesses in Miyagi and Sendai that support local parenting to reach out. Let’s work together to support families who might otherwise feel alone.

Message from Representative Ohashi

It has been four years since we established our organization. Through our play spaces and programs such as parenting classes and events, we have served over 25,500 parent-child pairs cumulatively. Today’s parenting environment, prone to isolation, must become more community-integrated, consistent from prenatal to postnatal stages, and circular in nature. The Maternity Box supports families even before parenting begins, sending the message: 'It’s okay to ask for help when you’re struggling.' We sincerely ask for your support in nurturing parenting in Miyagi and Sendai.
