Toyotomi Onsen 100th Anniversary "Toyotomi Photo Contest" Now Accepting Entries! [Toyotomi Onsen 100th Anniversary Project Executive Committee]

Seeking Wonderful Photos to Last for the Next 100 Years!

Toyotomi Onsen in Toyotomi Town, Hokkaido, gushed out suddenly during oil prospecting in the Taisho era (1912-1926). It is said to be one of only two places in the world with a "natural oil-containing spring quality" and has served as a "hot spring of hope" for many people suffering from skin diseases. On May 17, 2026, marking the 100th anniversary of its opening, the Toyotomi Onsen 100th Anniversary Project Executive Committee was established. To express gratitude for its 100-year history and to pass it on to the future, we are holding the Toyotomi Photo Contest.

Contest Guidelines

[Categories and Themes]

1. Free Category Theme: "Wonderful Scenery, People, and Things Photographed in Toyotomi Town" Target: Photos taken in Toyotomi Town

2. Onsen Category Theme: "Thank You, Toyotomi Onsen" Target: Photos taken in the Toyotomi Onsen area

Photos must have been taken on or after January 1, 2021.

Submitted works must be unpublished. Duplicate entries in other contests are not permitted.

Entries will only be accepted online.

Each person may submit up to 5 entries.

Accepted file formats are JPEG and HEIC only, with a maximum size of 10MB.

Copyright and Usage Rights

Applicants guarantee that the submitted work is their own photograph and does not infringe on any third-party rights.

If a submitted work wins an award, the copyright (including rights stipulated in Articles 27 and 28 of the Copyright Act) of the awarded work (hereinafter referred to as "Awarded Work") both domestically and internationally will belong to Toyotomi Town and the Toyotomi Town Tourism Association, who may freely use it on their websites, exhibitions, etc.

Adjustments such as resizing, cropping, and color correction may be made for publication.

2. Consideration for Portrait Rights and Privacy

If a person is depicted in the photograph, their consent must be obtained before submission.

Personal information entered during application will only be used for the operation and communication of this project.

Applicants' names (nicknames are acceptable) and prefecture names (or town/village names for Hokkaido residents) will be publicly disclosed. Submissions that violate public order and morals, are for promotional purposes, or are otherwise deemed inappropriate by the organizers will be disqualified.

3. Disclaimer and Other Provisions

Awards may be revoked if the entry violates the rules or if the organizers recognize similar or duplicate entries after the award has been given.

When photographing within hotels or public facilities, please follow the instructions of the management.

In the event of a dispute (e.g., infringement of portrait rights) between the applicant and a third party regarding the submitted photograph, the organizers will not be held responsible, and the applicant will be responsible for resolving the dispute at their own expense.
