17th 'Hotaru no Tsudoi' (Firefly Gathering) to be held in Utsunomiya on May 30, 2026

Educarealize Group will host the 17th 'Hotaru no Tsudoi' (Firefly Gathering), one of the group's two major annual events, on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Heartfield, operated by the Aiaikai Social Welfare Corporation.

This event is a classic early summer tradition set in the natural surroundings of Kogashi, where local residents, children, parents, and welfare and education professionals gather to deepen connections through the glow of fireflies. Last year, the event welcomed over 1,800 attendees, making it a beloved regional event enjoyed by all generations.

The theme for the 17th edition is 'Guided by the Firefly's Light: Chance Encounters and New Discoveries.' The planned program, designed for all ages, includes firefly viewing, hula performances, tree climbing, and special guest projects.

The venue, Heartfield, is a hub for Educarealize Group, which develops welfare, education, and childcare support services. Through this event, the group aims to share its initiatives with the local community while promoting the importance of the natural environment, human connections, and an open approach to welfare and education.

Please note that due to the nature of firefly ecology, viewing may not be possible depending on the weather. In case of rain, some parts of the program will be modified.
