General Incorporated Association demoexpo (Location: 1-12-11 Kyo-machi-bori, Nishi-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, 4F Aikou Building / Representative Director: Hanaoka, hereinafter demo!expo) announces that the international food culture exchange project, which aims to establish connections with overseas pavilions and various national communities born out of the Osaka-Kansai Expo and pass them on to the next generation, has been selected as a certified project under the Osaka Prefecture 'Osaka Urban Attractiveness Public-Private Co-Creation Program'.
This project, centered around the international food culture exchange project 'SEKAI KITCHEN' that demo!expo has been promoting, aims to create opportunities for children, young people, chefs, foreign communities in Osaka, companies, and organizations to meet through the world's cuisine and food culture.
This project will accept donations through the Osaka Prefecture 'Osaka Urban Attractiveness Public-Private Co-Creation Program' until September 30, 2026. This system allows for donations to Osaka Prefecture, and in cases where companies located outside the Osaka Prefecture meet certain conditions, the use of the corporate version of furusato tax is possible. In addition to designated donations to this project, companies and organizations can participate in various ways, such as providing venues, collaborating with restaurants and chefs, connecting with overseas communities, program development with universities and students, and public relations cooperation.
About the Certified Project of demo!expo
The main initiative of this certified project is 'SEKAI KITCHEN,' which, together with chefs and players in Osaka, conveys the food culture of various parts of the world. As a certified project of Osaka Prefecture, it is publicly announced under the name 'Expo Legacy Urban Culture Creation Project OSAKA GLOBAL TABLE NETWORK - Next-Generation International Exchange Program Through Food Culture.'
SEKAI KITCHEN is an experimental initiative that re-edits and delivers the charm of cultures from various countries and regions through food, music, language, etc. It aims to provide the experience of turning 'unknown countries' into 'places you want to visit someday' through the dining table.
Rather than simply providing overseas cuisine, it focuses on the lives, history, culture, and stories of the people behind the cuisine, and aims to make unknown countries and regions feel closer through the act of eating. This is a beneficial experience for those who have developed an interest in the world through the Expo, as well as for children who will live by interacting with people from all over the world in the future.
About Past SEKAI KITCHEN Events
In addition, if multiple SEKAI KITCHEN events are established, we are also considering expanding them as opportunities to widely disseminate information through 'World Alley.'
