The Japan IVF Standardization and Accreditation Organization (JISART), headquartered in Kita-ku, Osaka, and led by President Masayuki Kinuya, has released the '2024 JISART Clinical Performance Report' (data collected from January to December 2024) in June 2026. JISART mandates its member facilities to submit clinical performance data in accordance with its operational regulations. Since the 2010 fiscal year, JISART has consistently compiled and published annual statistics, while also conducting its own long-term follow-up survey on children born through assisted reproductive technology (ART). Through continuous data collection and public disclosure, JISART aims to provide information to patients, support clinical review by member institutions, and enhance the overall quality and transparency of reproductive medicine.

The Role of Continuous Clinical Performance Reporting

To continuously improve the quality of medical care, it is essential to objectively assess clinical outcomes and conduct ongoing evaluation and improvement.

Since its establishment, JISART has aimed to enhance the 'safety,' 'transparency,' and 'quality' of reproductive medicine through:

- Continuous public reporting of clinical outcomes - Long-term follow-up studies of ART-born children - Promotion of single embryo transfer (SET) - Ongoing mutual evaluation among member facilities

JISART believes that establishing a foundation for patients to make informed treatment decisions and for medical institutions to pursue continuous improvement is a core mission. The release of the 2024 clinical data aims to promote ongoing improvement across facilities and elevate the overall quality of ART services.

Initiation of Inter-Facility Laboratory Culture Performance Aggregation

Starting with the 2024 data submission (aggregated for fiscal year 2024), JISART has launched a new initiative to compile laboratory culture performance data across member facilities, in addition to the existing clinical performance reporting (for internal use only). This initiative aims to help each facility objectively assess its own performance and utilize the data for internal quality improvement.

Moving forward, JISART plans to expand this effort by:

- Promoting standardization of laboratories within the JISART network - Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) for culture outcomes - Facilitating knowledge sharing and inter-laboratory exchanges among member facilities

JISART will continue striving to improve the overall quality of assisted reproductive medicine through both clinical data and laboratory quality management.
