OpenSUSI's 'First Tapeout' Selected for METI's AKATSUKI Project

OpenSUSI announced that its 'First Tapeout' project has been selected for METI's FY2025 AKATSUKI Project, a regional talent development initiative. The program provides young engineers and students nationwide with hands-on experience in semiconductor design and tape-out. By utilizing NDA-free open-source EDA tools and ChipFoundry's shuttle services, participants can focus on innovation without the constraints of commercial licenses. Mentors from NSW and Hitachi will provide direct guidance to foster a new generation of full-stack semiconductor architects in Japan.
