Yuka Iijima, representative of our organization, was invited by Dr. William Moss, Director of the International Vaccine Access Center (IVAC) at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, to speak at an IVAC seminar.
During the seminar, Iijima reported on an overview of research regarding the integration of primary healthcare and immunization services, which she conducted at UNICEF. She also shared the background and activity policy of Reaching Zero-Dose Children, along with efforts in youth-led advocacy, education, outreach, and initiatives in the field of global health.
During the Q&A session following the presentation, participants exchanged views on methods for supporting zero-dose children, ensuring equitable access to immunization services, collaborating with communities, and possibilities for future research and practical collaboration.
Our organization will continue to engage in dialogues with domestic and international experts, research institutions, and partner organizations, working toward realizing a society where life-saving vaccines reach every child.
About Reaching Zero-Dose Children
Reaching Zero-Dose Children is a youth-led organization addressing the issue of "zero-dose children" who have never received a vaccine. We aim to deliver life-saving vaccines to every child through vaccine equity, global health initiatives, health communication, policy advocacy, and educational activities.
Moving forward, we will continue to contribute to the realization of more equitable immunization access through local communication that values local voices, youth participation, and international collaboration.
