[Event Report] Global Leaders from 8 Countries Gather at UN University: 'Global Resilience Summit' — Co-creating the Future Society of the World

The Global Resilience Summit (Location: Shibuya, Tokyo; Representatives: Asako Kimura, Kunimi Mabuchi) held the 'Global Resilience Summit' on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the United Nations University Headquarters Building in Shibuya, Tokyo.

This summit brought together approximately 300 diverse stakeholders, including regional leaders from all 47 prefectures of Japan and global leaders from eight countries, primarily in the Asia-Pacific region. Participants from government, economy, academia, and youth organizations engaged in cross-sector and cross-border discussions to realize a resilient society.

### Part 3: Creating Resilience with the World In the third part, 'Global Resilience Summit,' young global leaders from eight countries participated, sharing the importance of the world working as 'one team' to tackle disasters and social issues.

In addition to international organizations such as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Japanese government officials from the Cabinet Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism took the stage. They shared initiatives and potential for international cooperation to strengthen resilience from their respective positions.

In particular, the importance of deploying Japan's disaster prevention and mitigation knowledge as an 'OS (Operating System)' to the international community was highlighted, and discussions deepened regarding the potential for implementation through collaboration with various countries.

### Next Host Country: Singapore At the end of the summit, it was announced that Singapore would be the host country for the next event. This indicates that the initiative is expanding from a Japan-originated activity into a global movement centered in the Asia-Pacific region.
