The Japan Women Foundation (Chiyoda City, Tokyo; CEO: Dr. Ruriko Tsushima) will launch its fourth crowdfunding campaign, aiming to resolve women's health issues and associated social challenges. This project seeks to realize a society where all women can live healthily, safely, and thrive. Background of the Crowdfunding Launch
We believe women's health issues are not individual problems but 'social challenges'.
STIs, domestic violence, sexual violence, unplanned pregnancies, economic hardship—
These may appear as personal issues, but they stem from systemic societal problems such as lack of comprehensive sex education, low awareness of consultation services, and fragmented local support systems.
Young women, in particular, often lack trusted adults or someone to talk to, leading to isolation and serious consequences due to lack of access to proper medical care or support.
We believe these challenges must not be dismissed as 'the individual's responsibility' but must be addressed collectively by society.
Japan Women Foundation's Mission and Three Key Initiatives
The Japan Women Foundation includes specialists from across Japan, including obstetricians and gynecologists, as well as experts in medicine, welfare, law, administration, education, and economics. Obstetrics and gynecology, in particular, stand at the frontline of women's healthcare, supporting women throughout their lives—not only during pregnancy and childbirth but also through menstruation, menopause, STIs, domestic violence, sexual assault, and postpartum depression.
From clinical practice, we see the underlying social issues behind women's health challenges. While supporting individual women, we aggregate these insights to advocate for policy changes and strengthen regional collaboration to transform societal systems.
Yet, women in need of support continue to exist, and both consultation requests and support needs are increasing. Through this crowdfunding campaign, we aim to invite more partners to join us in this mission.
We envision a society where no woman ever again feels, 'I had no one to talk to, no money, and didn’t know what to do about my baby.'
Empowering women with the strength to survive and thrive.
We sincerely ask for your warm support.
