Launch of Terrasphere
The Outdoor Safety Environment Organization (based in Gifu City) will launch 'Terrasphere,' a large-scale retractable shade system, on June 1, 2026. This system is designed to protect people and assets from climate-driven risks such as heatstroke, UV radiation, and hail.
In recent years, damage from extreme weather has intensified. Terrasphere was developed as a 'climate-adaptive outdoor infrastructure' to address these societal issues. It is already in operation at the Ohora Children's Garden (Social Welfare Corporation Howakai) in Gifu City.
