Honoring Female Entrepreneurs from Kyoto to the Nation: Call for Entries for the 15th Kyoto Women Entrepreneur Award

Kyoto Prefecture is officially announcing the start of the application period for the 15th Kyoto Women Entrepreneur Award on June 1, designed to recognize and support female entrepreneurs challenging themselves with new businesses.

1. Application Period: June 1 (Mon) – July 31 (Fri), 2026 (must be received by this date).

2. Application Content: Business models run by women that contribute to regional community and economic revitalization. Eligible applicants include: - Sole proprietors and SMEs established within 5 years as of April 1, 2026. - Entrepreneurs who have engaged in 'second startup' (business conversion/new ventures) within 5 years as of April 1, 2026. - NPOs, general incorporated associations, and agricultural production corporations established within 5 years as of April 1, 2026.

3. Qualifications: - No restrictions on current address or nationality. - Representative must be female and currently operating a business in Kyoto Prefecture, or have a concrete plan to develop a business in Kyoto within the next 1–2 years.

4. How to Apply: Download the application form from the Kyoto Prefecture website, complete it, and submit via email or mail.

5. Other: (1) Awards: Kyoto Governor's Award (Top Prize 300,000 yen, Excellence Prize 100,000 yen, Child-rearing Business Prize 100,000 yen), Kinki Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry Director-General's Award, and Special Awards. (2) Support: Seminars/consultation for all entrants, and individual guidance/business plan refinement consultations for those who pass the first screening.
