Call for Entries: 2026 Awards for Sustainable Society Development

The Environmental Life and Culture Organization has officially opened the application process for the '2026 Awards for Sustainable Society Development.'

We are accepting nationwide entries for outstanding activities that contribute to a sustainable society across various fields, including the Minister of the Environment Award, regional revitalization, environmental education (ESD), resource circulation, and biodiversity conservation.

Purpose: These awards aim to recognize and widely promote exceptional activities implemented by companies and organizations that contribute to regional and international society, resource circulation, environmental education, and biodiversity conservation. Through these recognitions, the program aims to revitalize private-sector environmental efforts, drive transformation in values and actions within communities—including individuals, businesses, and regions—and advance the creation of a sustainable society.

Eligibility: Applicants must be companies or organizations with their principal office in Japan that have made significant contributions to building a sustainable society. Both self-nominations and recommendations from others are accepted. A single organization may submit multiple entries, and joint applications by multiple entities are also permitted.

Award Categories: - Minister of the Environment Award: Awarded to companies or organizations conducting particularly outstanding activities in creating a sustainable society that contributes to environmental preservation. - Regional Revitalization Activity Award: Awarded to companies or organizations conducting outstanding activities that promote regional exchange and revitalization while contributing to environmental preservation. - ESD Activity Award: Awarded to companies or organizations conducting outstanding environmental education initiatives related to nurturing leaders for a sustainable society. - Resource Circulation Activity Award: Awarded to companies or organizations conducting outstanding activities related to the promotion of resource recycling. - Biodiversity Conservation Activity Award: Awarded to companies or organizations conducting outstanding activities related to the conservation of biodiversity.

Prize Money: - Minister of the Environment Award: 50,000 JPY - Other Categories: 20,000 JPY each

Deadline: August 31, 2026 (Sunday), must be received by this date.

Announcement: Winners will be announced on our website in October 2026.

Award Ceremony: Scheduled for the afternoon of November 25, 2026 (Wednesday).
