Rohm Theatre Kyoto will produce 'Men's Tea Party,' a new work by director Nagara Wada, as part of its 'Creation of Repertory' project. Following auditions held in the spring, the following four cast members have been selected: Toru Inoue, Juri Takagi, Keiji Mitamura, and Akira Murayama.

This project, launched in 2017, focuses on public theaters taking an active role in creating works intended to be performed repeatedly as part of the theater's permanent repertoire. The play investigates how the attribute of 'male' is framed by society and how it affects the lives and bodies of individuals. Starting from the director's own sense of distance from the 'female' attribute, the piece approaches the complexity of human existence through the theatrical angle of 'performing masculinity.'

Composition and direction are by Nagara Wada (shitatame), with set design by Tetsuro Ohashi and advising by Kai Nishii. Further details, including the main visual and related events, will be announced in early summer. The production is set to run from December 4th to 6th, 2026, at the theater's North Hall.
