Hyogo Prefecture Black Edamame "Rokko Kuro Yutaka"

In the northern Hanshin region, centered around Sanda City, the JA, municipalities, and the prefecture are collaborating to expand the production and promote the consumption of black edamame.

From early-season varieties harvested in July to late-season varieties (Tanba Black) harvested in October and early November, six varieties are grown in succession, allowing you to enjoy the rich flavor of black edamame for an extended period.

Among these, early to mid-late season varieties have been branded as "Rokko Kuro Yutaka" by JA Hyogo Rokko in Reiwa 6 (2024).

They are sold primarily at mass retailers in the Hanshin area (on irregular basis), starting with Pascal Sanda Ichibankan (Sanda City).

On July 4 (Sat), the first day of sales this year, a special corner will be set up at Pascal Sanda Ichibankan.

On hot summer days, black edamame, packed with rich flavor and umami, are perfect as a snack with beer or as a treat for children!

Please enjoy the fresh, "just-picked" black edamame, a specialty of local harvests.
