In the northern Hanshin region, JA, municipalities, and the prefecture are collaborating to expand the production and promote the consumption of black soybean edamame.
Since Reiwa 3 (2021), we have been supporting the "pod-shelling experience" at nursery schools etc. in Sanda City and other areas, conducted by agricultural cooperatives that produce black soybean edamame, with the aim of promoting food education for children and PR for parents.
Until last year, the event was held in Takarazuka and Sanda cities in July. This year, to make more consumers aware of black soybean edamame, we will also hold it at nursery schools etc. in Itami City.
We will bring stalks of early-season black soybean edamame (variety: Tankuro) to nursery schools etc., and in addition to the pod-shelling experience, farmers will conduct a kamishibai (paper play) where children can learn about black soybean edamame in a fun way.
