Noboribetsu Marine Park Nixe, operated by Hokkaido Marine Park Co., Ltd. (Location: Noboribetsu City, Representative Director: Yasushi Miyazaki), has received the "Excellence Award" at the "Digital Signage Awards 2026" for its immersive space "Wonder Box 360".

"Wonder Box 360" is an immersive space composed of five LED screens, measuring 4,000mm in width, 7,000mm in depth, and 3,000mm in height, developed by FRACTO Inc. (Headquarters: Sapporo City, Hokkaido, President and CEO: Shintaro Ito).

"Wonder Box 360"

This is a new sensation content that projects real-time generated visuals onto a space composed of five LED screens. It offers an overwhelming sense of immersion, as if one has entered the world itself, rather than just watching a video.

With "adventure" as its theme, visitors can experience a fantastical underwater world that cannot be seen in reality.

"Wonder Box 360" ~An "Adventure" Where Reality and Fantasy Intersect~

The stage is a fictional uninhabited island surrounded by rich nature.

The journey into the unknown world begins by following a quiet river flow deep into the island.

Eventually, as you dive underwater, a fantastical underwater world connected to real nature unfolds before your eyes.

There, mythical creatures dwell, and the Nixe Castle, towering in a fantasy world, appears.

The realistic texture of nature merges with the fantastical expressions unique to digital technology.

You can enjoy a new immersive experience, as if you have stepped into the world of a movie or a picture book.

Judges' Comments

- An ambitious work by an aquarium that achieves perfect spatial immersion without VR goggles. The smooth adventurous storyline connecting reality to a fantasy world is extremely beautiful. The hardware also features HOB processing to enhance durability and moisture resistance, demonstrating thorough technical consideration for stable operation.

- Although it is digital signage, I felt the passion of people embedded in its creative expression.

- The quality of the experience, which integrates tactile sensations and acoustics into a five-sided LED immersive space to create the illusion of "being there," is extremely high. The hardware considerations are also thorough, making it close to the complete form of an immersive facility.

The Digital Signage Awards are organized by the Digital Signage Consortium to revitalize the digital signage market. Excellent digital signage works are selected and awarded from public submissions, and have been held annually since the pre-award in 2009.

After review by a judging committee, one Grand Prix and approximately 10 Excellence Awards are selected. Noboribetsu Marine Park Nixe is one of Hokkaido's largest aquariums, themed around Nordic romance and marine fantasy.

The aquarium is located inside Nixe Castle, modeled after the real Egeskov Castle in Denmark, and is home to approximately 400 species and 20,000 marine creatures.
