[About Kitamoto City, Saitama Prefecture] Kitamoto City, with a population of approximately 65,000, is a city that draws a gentle gradient of greenery, where beautiful 'satoyama' (countryside landscapes) and woodlands coexist with daily life, despite being located within 45 kilometers of the Tokyo metropolitan area.
As the highest point on the Omiya Plateau, Kitamoto City is highly regarded as a 'disaster-resilient city' with few earthquakes or flood risks.
Furthermore, the abundance of Jomon period ruins, including the 'Denotame Ruins' (designated as a national historic site in October 2024), serves as evidence that this area has been chosen as a place where people have lived peacefully alongside rich nature since ancient times.
