Nurse Cafe to Support Nursing Students in Learning and Career Aspects

Yatsuda Hospital, operated by the Medical Corporation Yatsudakai, will hold a free event for students aiming to become nurses in Kumamoto Prefecture, titled "2nd Nurse Cafe," on August 8, 2026 (Sat) at Mirai Kaigishitsu (Shimotori, Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City).

This event is planned as a place where nursing students can freely discuss their concerns regarding practical training, studies, and employment. Nursing advisor Kazu, author of "The Complete Practical Training Book for Nursing Students," will be invited as a lecturer to clearly explain topics that nursing students often find difficult.

In addition, nurses from the host, Yatsuda Hospital, will participate, and an exchange session is planned where students can casually interact and discuss their concerns, work styles after employment, and the appeal of working at the hospital.

Background of the Event

There is a significant shortage of nurses in Kumamoto Prefecture. Yatsuda Hospital aims to support students aspiring to be nurses so they do not stumble during their studies, while also conveying the appeal of working at hospitals in Kumamoto Prefecture and increasing the number of nurses who will be active in the prefecture in the future.

The first Nurse Cafe was held on May 9, 2026, and participants expressed high satisfaction. Participants commented, "I want to participate again next time," "It was good to talk with cheerful nurses," and "My desire to be active in the nursing world has grown."
