Gassaku Inc. (Representative Director: Tomohiko Saito, Headquarters: Osaki Town, Kagoshima Prefecture), which approaches society and regions through creative and institutional design (protocol design) based in Osaki Town, Kagoshima Prefecture, will implement the project 'Tadaima, Osumi.' in fiscal 2026, marking its second year. The project, launched in fiscal 2025, aims to promote U/I-turns and employment in the Osumi region.
In its second year, the project will further expand the avenues for involvement. A kickoff event will be held in Tokyo in June, followed by the main event in Osaki Town, Kagoshima Prefecture, in August. Concurrently, we will launch a crowdfunding campaign to recruit companions who will help grow this project together.
▶︎ 'Tadaima, Osumi.' to be implemented in fiscal 2026 as well 'Tadaima, Osumi.' is a project that nurtures relationships where people living in the region, people living away from the region, and people who will encounter Osumi in the future can continue to connect with Osumi in their own ways, with the aim of promoting U/I-turns to Osumi.
In the project that started in fiscal 2025, we delivered the appeal of the people, lifestyle, and climate of Osumi through hosting events in Tokyo, exchange programs in Osumi, and broadcasting on the Instagram magazine 'Sumikkojinn'.
Fiscal 2026, the second year, will be developed as a year to open up diverse ways of involvement while further nurturing the connections born last year.
▶︎ Main event 'Zenryoku Okaerina Festival' to be held in Osumi on August 11 On Tuesday, August 11, 2026, we will hold the U/I-turn promotion event 'Zenryoku Okaerina Festival' at the Kuninomatsubara Campground in Osaki Town, Soo District, Kagoshima Prefecture.
This event is designed for local people to welcome back with all their might those who return to Osumi saying 'Tadaima' (I'm home), as well as those visiting for the first time. On the day of the event, participants will enjoy content that lets them taste Osumi with the locals, and fully appreciate the appeal of Osumi, such as its food and drinks.
▶︎ Project kickoff in Tokyo on June 17 To kick off the project, we plan to hold a kickoff event (featuring local cuisine and drinks) in Tokyo in June 2026. This event aims to be an 'entryway' for those interested in Osumi or looking for ways to get involved with the region. Leading up to the 'Zenryoku Okaerina Festival' in August, for those who feel 'I can't wait until August' or 'I want to initiate something too,' we will recruit 'Zenryoku Supporters' (operational volunteers) and collaborators to help create the event. Together, we will discuss the future of Osumi and nurture seeds of new actions born from there.
▶︎ Recruiting companions to nurture the project together through crowdfunding At the 'Zenryoku Okaerina Festival' held for the first time in fiscal 2025, the combined efforts of local residents, participants, cooperating companies, and management members brought the scenery we had envisioned to life. At the same time, we strongly realized that 'Tadaima, Osumi.' is not a project completed solely by the organizers, but one that grows together with people who want to be involved and support it.
Therefore, this year, we will implement crowdfunding not just for fundraising, but as a mechanism to connect more deeply with people who share the desire to 'get involved with Osumi' and 'create this scenery together.' By opening up 'avenues for involvement' where those returning, those unable to return yet, and those supporting from afar can participate in their own ways, we aim to cultivate richer connections with Osumi.
[Comment from Zenryoku Captain | Takuya Oho, Gassaku Inc.] 'Tadaima, Osumi.' is not an initiative just to increase the number of people 'returning' to Osumi. It is a project that nurtures relationships where people who have returned, those who haven't been able to yet, those thinking of Osumi from afar, and those who will encounter Osumi in the future can continue to connect with Osumi in their own ways. At the 'Zenryoku Okaerina Festival' held for the first time last year, the scenery we truly wanted to see spread across the venue. That single day, packed with the charm of Osumi, was made possible by the participants, local residents...
