Free Style LLC (Headquarters: Gamagori, Aichi; Representative: Tsubasa Yoshida) has opened a new franchise store for its on-site secondhand buying service, 'Ureruya,' in Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City.
Combined with the existing Hamamatsu branch (which serves western Shizuoka), this opening completes a system that provides on-site buying services throughout all of Shizuoka Prefecture. Together with the six stores in Aichi Prefecture (the company's home base), the network now spans eight locations across two Tokai region prefectures. The Shizuoka store is led by a new franchise owner who is a former manager of a buying shop and has extensive industry experience.
Ureruya was founded in 2016 in Gamagori, Aichi, a city with a population of approximately 70,000, and has successfully proven the profitability of its on-site-only business model starting from regional cities. With the opening of the Shizuoka branch, the company can now provide services to every city and town in Shizuoka Prefecture, solidifying its growth into an on-site buying chain covering both Aichi and Shizuoka.
On-site buying services are experiencing increasing demand, particularly among elderly households, due to the convenience of having assessments completed at home—useful for purposes such as disposal during moves, estate clearance, and decluttering. In regional cities experiencing population aging, where bringing items to a physical store is often difficult, this service, where an appraiser visits the customer's home, is highly valued.
Representative Tsubasa Yoshida commented, 'At the time, people said a buying business wouldn't succeed in a small city, but over ten years, we have built a system rooted in the community.' The fact that the owner of the new Shizuoka store is also an industry veteran serves as further proof of the credibility of Ureruya's business model. Ureruya continues to contribute to regional society by providing services with no dispatch fees or appraisal fees.
