The "good old days" of Showa and Heisei are coming back. Nostalgic, yet a little new. A sight that moves the heart, a touch that revives memories. A festival of retro goods filled with memories of Showa and Heisei, including retro sundries, antique tools, character goods, records, cheap toys, soft vinyl figures, enamel signs, and more. The "4th Shikoku Retro Shopping Street Flea Market" will be held for two days, on Saturday, May 16th and Sunday, May 17th, 2026, at the Sun Messe Kagawa Small Exhibition Hall in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture. This event is the only and largest indoor retro event in Kagawa Prefecture. As it is held entirely indoors, unaffected by weather, you can safely and leisurely enjoy "Showa and Heisei treasure hunting" even on rainy days. An overwhelming retro world with over 80,000 items. A total of 74 companies from Shikoku, Kansai, Hiroshima, Okayama, Chubu areas, and more will gather over two days. Over 80,000 items will be exhibited. The venue will be lined with items that appeal to all generations, such as Showa character goods, corporate novelties, antique tools, records, cheap toys, soft vinyl figures, Showa home appliances, enamel signs, and stationery. "It was at home when I was a child." "It reminds me of the atmosphere of that era." "It's nostalgic, yet new when I see it now." These are the natural reactions, making it truly a two-day time travel experience. Completely indoor event. A large facility event that can be enjoyed with peace of mind. Sun Messe Kagawa Small Exhibition Hall, the venue, is a large convention facility representing Kagawa Prefecture. There are approximately 1,700 free parking spaces. You can comfortably enjoy shopping in an air-conditioned indoor venue, without worrying about heat, cold, or rain. In addition, staff with nursing qualifications will be stationed at the venue. We prioritize creating an environment where families with children to seniors can visit with peace of mind. "Time Travel Event" beyond mere product sales. The Shikoku Retro Shopping Street Flea Market is not just a product sales event. It is an initiative to revive the "warmth of things" and "passion of people" – conversations between people, encounters with goods, and interactions with shopkeepers that existed in old shopping streets – in a modern event space. Nostalgia that can be enjoyed by three generations of a family. Showa and Heisei culture that appears fresh to younger generations. A place for seniors to share memories. It will be developed as a community-participatory cultural event where all generations can enjoy the same space. Many special projects are also planned. For this 4th event, we have prepared many special projects for visitors to enjoy even more. First project | "Jankenpon Man" appears. On Saturday during paid hours, "Jankenpon Man" will suddenly challenge visitors with shopping bags to a rock-paper-scissors game. Winners will receive a small gift. Second project | Luck in limited edition products. "Winning" mechanisms are set up for limited edition products at each booth. There's a chance to win a 500 yen gift certificate or a grand prize of a 10,000 yen gift certificate. Third project | Exhibitor Booth General Election. Visitors vote for the booth they find "most appealing." Winners will receive a small gift, and the selected booth will receive a free participation fee for the next event. Fourth project | Showa Retro Coordinate. Limited to Sunday. Visitors who incorporate a retro element into their attire will receive a sticker. Fifth project | Retro Goods Salvage. An exciting project like pulling up treasures sleeping in a lake. All items are 100 yen, first-come, first-served, up to 3 items per person. Sixth project | Instagrammable Spot. A photo spot will be set up where you can capture memories of Showa and Heisei. It's not just for taking pictures, but for "capturing memories themselves." Local TV station coverage also planned. On Saturday, May 16th, 2026, the first day of the event, local TV station coverage is also planned. We will widely disseminate the unique world view of the Shikoku Retro Shopping Street Flea Market, including the excitement of the venue, the expressions of visitors, the commitment of exhibitors, and encounters with retro goods.
