Students from the Department of Sociology, Social Welfare Course at Hiroshima International University (President: Shuichiro Shimizu) have collaborated with "Angie Japan," an operator of a Type B continuous employment support facility for people with disabilities, to produce "charity T-shirts" as part of an awareness campaign for intractable diseases. The T-shirts were sold on July 11 at "Social Hub Angie" in the Hiroshima Hondori Shopping Street, with proceeds to be used to support welfare projects.

Key Points of This Initiative:

● T-shirts created with the message "Support Begins With Understanding" to raise awareness for intractable diseases.

● Based on the concept of "Ono-okuri" (passing on kindness), where kindness received from someone is passed on to the next person.

● Aiming to establish a circular support model by using sales proceeds to support welfare projects and other initiatives.

The T-shirt production was based on the concept of "Ono-okuri," which means "passing on kindness received from someone to the next person." The message "Support Begins With Understanding" was included, conveying the idea that "to truly support someone, it is important to first understand their situation, feelings, and background."

The initiative aims to broaden understanding of intractable diseases by involving not only the students who design and sell the T-shirts, but also the purchasers, wearers, and those who post about the T-shirts on social media, all participating in the "Ono-okuri." Furthermore, by using the sales proceeds to support welfare projects, the goal is to establish a circular support model for society as a whole.
