Chukyo University (Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture; President: Kiyohide Umemura) and Nisshin City (Nisshin City, Aichi Prefecture; Mayor: Yuki Kondo) have signed a collaboration agreement on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, aimed at contributing to the sustainable development of the local community, addressing regional challenges, and enhancing community engagement.

With the signing of this agreement, the university will utilize its sports, intellectual, human, and physical resources to promote mutual collaboration in various fields, including sports experience programs for children and Silver Schools for the elderly in Nisshin City. In the future, cooperation will expand to include cultural promotion, mutual assistance during disasters, student volunteer activities, and community engagement initiatives.

Specific Collaborative Initiatives

Support for 'Kodomo Hiroba' (Children's Sports Experience Program)

Chukyo University will provide support using its sports resources for 'Kodomo Hiroba,' a sports experience event for beginners and novices organized by Nisshin City.

・Schedule and Venue: Second Friday of every month / Nisshin City Sports Center

・Target Participants: Children up to 6th grade with no prior experience or beginners

・Purpose: To provide diverse physical activity experiences for children and support their healthy development.

Support for 'Ikiki Silver School'

The university will collaborate with Nisshin City's 'Ikiki Silver School,' a program targeting residents aged approximately 60 and above.

・Venue Provision: The university will widely open the facilities at its Toyota Campus—the hub for sports promotion—as the venue.

・Purpose: To return the university's well-equipped sports facilities and intellectual resources to the local community and aim to create a vibrant community hub where multiple generations can actively interact.
